#56 - St Austell Brewery - Tribute Cornish Ale

I want to like this beer, I really do.  Unfortunately, I just can't.  It is fairly bland with an annoyingly watery edge.  At 4.2% and without any particular distinguishing features, it joins a whole host of beers that are either cheaper, better, or both.  A particular disappointment is the slightly antiseptic aftertaste, which tips the balance from uninspiring to unpleasant.  I am sure that there are many great beers produced in Cornwall, however, this simply isn't one of them.  5/10

  1. I didn't mind this beer, and I'd certainly give it more than a 5/10, but that's probably mostly because, thanks to the drought of real ale in my life at the moment, I lack any semblance of objectivity when it comes to judging ales.
